Olympic Lifting. One of the many disciplines of CrossFit that are routinely seen in many affiliate programs. With elements such as "hang cleans", Squat Snatches, OHS and other Olympic-based movements.
So at CrossFit NAS, we have developed a 10-week block of programming that will help with the following:
- Improve the communities understanding of the movements of Olympic lifting and t be able to execute the movements with confidence
- Increase in weights used by the community in workouts that they usually wouldn't do
- Create more robust and more versatile lifters
So how do we do that?
- We will lift four out of the five days over the week. Jerks, Snatches, Cleans and clean and jerks
- In The first two weeks, we focus on the different positions and what that means. We drop the weight back and drill these movements.
- Week three is a test week where we should be able to test the athlete's abilities to perform these lifts. Not only in 1 Rep maxes, but also the 808 Complexes. It tests the athlete's ability to understand each movement and how to do it.
- After week three, we spend the next six weeks completing a progressive overload template to help improve our athletes' abilities under the barbel.
- In Week Ten, we retest the athlete's 1 Rep maxes and their complexes.
So we look forward to seeing how our community progresses after the huge first quarter of the year :)
